SomaliaWFP Somalia started mobile Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (mVAM) activities or mKormeer as it is called in Somali in 2014. Since then, activities have been consolidated with the establishment of a Somalia-based call center, which has eight fully dedicated staff and a diverse range of tools that complement physical monitoring. The current mKormeer tools include live calls placed by operators, interactive voice response (IVR) to collect information on household food consumption, negative coping strategies, and implementation processes, bulk text and voice messages for information dissemination, and Sugar CRM to manage information from the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism.
