SOMALIA

In April 2014, WFP started remote phone-based data collection and food security monitoring in Central Somalia through the mVAM (mobile Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping) approach. Survey respondents are contacted via live calls placed by operators and interactive voice response (IVR). Respondents are asked to respond to a short series of questions on household food consumption and coping strategies used.
