Seventeen provinces remain under a state of calamity due to El Nino-induced drought, affecting 3.5 million people (as of late April 2016), and causing an estimated US$258 million loss in agricultural production. In the conflict-affected Mindanao province, this has been compounded by sporadic incidents of armed conflict, which continue to displace hundreds of families.
