El Nino has particularly affected the southern region, resulting in low crop yields and reduced food access despite the recent harvest. The Food Security Cluster estimates 1.1 million people have been left food insecure, with 665,000 severely food insecure. Nutrition screening data indicates 39,000 children under 5 in eight most affected southern districts are suffering from acute malnutrition.
